Budgam, May 5 :The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 27-Budgam Assembly Constituency, has announced the successful conclusion of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls with respect to 01.04.2025 as the qualifying date. Following the completion of the revision process, copies of the Final Electoral Rolls have been formally handed over to the representatives of various political parties.
The Special Summary Revision commenced on 8th April 2025 and culminated on 24th April 2025. As part of the preparatory activities, a rationalization of polling stations was carried out, resulting in an increase of 17 polling stations. Consequently, the total number of polling stations in the 27-Budgam Assembly Constituency now stands at 156.
Throughout the SSR period, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) demonstrated exemplary participation, and extensive public awareness campaigns were undertaken under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative. Collaboration with political parties, educational institutions, and civil society groups was a hallmark of the process. A major highlight was the deployment of the “Democracy on Wheel” — a mobile van equipped with modern facilities provided by the CEO, to enhance voter awareness and outreach.
To ensure maximum voter engagement, four Special Camp Days were organized across all polling stations on 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th April 2025. Eligible electors participated enthusiastically in the registration process.
The SSR operations were carried out transparently, with regular meetings held with stakeholders and weekly sharing of claims and objections.
The Final Electoral Rolls are now available for public inspection at all polling stations, the offices of the Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and on the official website of the CEO J&K:
While handing over the rolls, the ERO, Budgam, urged political parties and electors to verify their names in the final list, note their EPIC number, Part number, and Serial number. Electors dissatisfied with any entry or decision of the ERO can appeal to the District Magistrate.
The ERO also appreciated the dedicated efforts of the field staff, BLOs, supervisors, and the citizens of Budgam for their cooperation in completing this crucial democratic exercise.
Citizens were encouraged to continue strengthening the electoral process by staying informed, aware, and active in the democratic journey.
