Awantipora: Noorpora residents demand restoration of water canal

Pulwama: The residents of Noorpora village in Awantipora tehsil of Pulwama district are up in arms against concerned authorities for failing to restore a water canal in their area.
The aggrieved residents have said that pathetic condition of water canal in their village is deteriorating the paddy fields, as the garbage and other wastes flow through it.
They said that they have been demanding restoration of the said canal for a long time, but the authorities pay a deaf ear to their problems.
One of the residents said that they wanted the authorities to use a bulldozer for the restoration purpose, but no step is being taken in this regard.
He said that they even raised this issue in Back to village programme as well, earlier.
The locals requested government to look into the matter, and restore the said canal in their area.
