ARTO office Anantnag runs without higher official, applicants suffer

Anantnag,Oct 06:  Regional transport Office Department in Anantnag runs without a higher official from last one month after the higher officials suspended  ARTO Anantnag for alleged corruption charges and attached to Divisional commisioner officer kashmir.

Talking to Arising state sources said that department is running without a higher official from last one month and  people are suffering due to non availability of higher official.

Sources said that the driving slots is pending from last several months in ARTO department Anantnag.People are  facing huge inconvenience to get any job done in the  ARTO department Anantnag. ‘The department is mum  and work is on the halt in the dept from last one month’,sources said.

Its worth mentioning here that Assistant Regional Transport Officers Anantnag and Kupwara were attached with the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir last month after the ACB registered a case against these officers .Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)  registered a case against the officers and officials of ARTO Anantnag for taking bribes and allowing touts to prepare driving licenses.The officials of ACB also conducted raids on eight places in Anantnag district in this context.

Meanwhile ,Arising state tried to contact the RTO Kashmir but his number is on out of reach mode.
