After 8 Years, J&K Sees Massive Recruitment Exercise Across 20 Districts for 4002 Posts

'Over 2.9 Lakh Candidates To Appear For 2nd, 3rd Phase On Dec 8 & Dec 22’

Srinagar/Jammu, Dec 01:  In what may be called a massive recruitment exercise, The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) today successfully conducted a written examination for 4,002 posts of police constables after a period of eight years in the Union Territory.

As per reports a total of 5,59,135 candidates are appearing in written exams for these posts at 856 centres across Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, over 2.62 lakh candidates were to appear for the police constable (executive) posts on December 1, with the highest, 54,296, among them from Jammu district.

More than 1.67 lakh candidates are likely to appear for the posts of constable (telecommunication) on December 8 and another 1.28 lakh for the posts of constable (photographer) on December 22.

In Srinagar: Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri accompanied by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat conducted inspection of various Examination Centres in District established by JKSSRB for conduct of the examination for Constable posts.

The Div Com and DC visited different exam centres established at SP College, SP Higher Secondary, Government College of Education, Burn Hall and took stock of the arrangements made for smooth and seamless conduct of the examination.

They also reviewed arrangements and facilities for students and staff deployed for the conduct of the examination.

In Ramban, the District Administration Ramban successfully conducted the OMR based Police Constable Exam, prearranged by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), at  five different Examination Centres in the district.

A total of 1000 candidates were enrolled for the Police Constable, out of which 868 appeared in today’s examination at 5 examination centres setup at GMHSS, Ramban, GDC, Ramban, Kamal Academy Chanderkote, GHS Chanderkote and Government Polytechnic College, Chanderkote. The seamless execution of the exam was made possible under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and the overall supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak.

In Kishtwar: The OMR based Objective type Written test for the recruitment of Constables was conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board’s (JKSSB) in District Kishtwar. General Examination Observer (ADC) Pawan Kotwal informed that out of 5873 registered candidates 5145 aspirants appeared for today’s exam.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Shavan and other officers visited all the 19 designated examination centres within the Town and adjoining areas of the District and took stock of facilities and arrangements put in place for smooth and transparent conduct of written examinations.

In Ganderbal:  The J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) examination for recruitment to constable posts in the Police Department concluded successfully today across Ganderbal district.  

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, along with SSP Ganderbal, Ragav S, inspected various examination centers to assess the arrangements and ensure a smooth and transparent conduct of the written examination.  

A total of 5989 candidates were scheduled to appear for the exam, out of which 5473 candidates participated. The examination was held across 27 designated centers in the district.  

In Kupwara:  The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today inspected various examination centers across the district to monitor the smooth conduct of the OMR-based examination for the post of Constable, conducted by the J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

The DC visited several centres, including AGS Wayan, GHSS Kupwara, GDC Kupwara and GDC Handwara, where she reviewed the arrangements and interacted with the examination staff and candidates. She emphasized maintaining transparency, fairness and strict adherence to prescribed guidelines.

In Shopian: The examinations for the recruitment of Constable posts by J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) was today held across Shopian district, recording 92 percent attendance of aspirants.

The exam was held at 15 centres of the district with proper arrangements made by District Administration Shopian for around 4200 aspirants.

To oversee the smooth conduct of examinations in the district, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), South Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar along with senior officials inspected the examination centers. 

  

In Baramulla: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa today visited various examination centers in Sopore, Baramulla, Pattan and other locations to ensure the smooth conduct of the JKSSB JKP Constable Examination.

The Examinations were smoothly conducted in other districts of Jammu and Kashmir where the respective Deputy Commissioners along with other officials monitored the examination centers throughout the day.
