FCSA lodges 33 FIRs, fines Rs 7 Lakh against commodity rate violators

Director Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs (FCSA) Kashmir Bashir Ahmed today said that department had lodged 33 FIRs and imposed a fine of Rs 7 lakh from violators from Eid ul Fitr.
Speaking to KNS, he appealed the public to come forward and reach out to officials of the Department regarding any rate list violation by sellers.
He said the order for joint market checking squads will be issued in every district on the directions of Divisional Commissioner to ensure strict compliance to the rate list during coming Eid days.
” We have issued rate list of commodities and are implementing that, ” he said.
He also informed that sacrificial animals are sold less this year.
He negated the reports that CAPD officials don’t perform market checking regularly.
