ADGP Armed visits 23 JKAP IR Battalion at Lethpora

Reviews welfare facilities, hears personnel grievances; directs sustainable infrastructure and green campus development

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Armed, J&K, Shri Nitish Kumar, IPS, accompanied by DIG Armed, Kashmir, Shri Maqsood-Ul-Zaman, IPS, on Saturday visited 23 JKAP IR Battalion at Lethpora, where he reviewed infrastructure, welfare facilities and arrangements for the personnel.On arrival, the ADGP was accorded a Guard of Honour by a smart contingent of the battalion.

During the visit, Nitish Kumar inaugurated the National Flag Pole installed in front of the Quarter Guard and inspected various facilities, including the MI Room, barber shop, wet canteen and administrative block. He took stock of the arrangements available for the welfare and convenience of personnel and issued directions on the spot wherever required.

The ADGP subsequently held a Darbar with the personnel of 23 JKAP IR Battalion, patiently hearing their grievances and suggestions. He assured the personnel that their genuine issues would be examined and addressed on priority, in accordance with the prescribed rules.

Nitish Kumar also held detailed discussions with the DIG Armed, I/C Commanding Officer of 23 JKAP IR Battalion and other senior officers regarding strengthening infrastructure and developing sustainable facilities at the battalion headquarters.

He directed the officers to formulate a comprehensive plan for establishing a water treatment/RO plant, rainwater harvesting system and solar power generation facility, besides undertaking necessary infrastructure development in a phased and systematic manner.

The ADGP further stressed the optimal utilisation of the extensive land available at the battalion headquarters through plantation and landscaping, emphasising the need to create a greener, cleaner and environmentally sustainable campus.

Emphasising the importance of a healthy, disciplined and responsible lifestyle, Nitish Kumar advised personnel to stay away from drugs, online gambling and other harmful or addictive activities. He stressed the importance of physical fitness, professional discipline and maintaining a positive approach towards service and personal well-being.
