Srinagar, Aug 16 : Chairman of Kashmir Society International and president of the Aalami Urdu Conference Farooq Renzushah on Saturday urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to ensure that the names of ministers, civil secretariat officers and divisional and district offices are displayed in Urdu in Kashmir, Hindi in Jammu and Ladakhi in Ladakh.

Addressing a large gathering at Takhat-e-Sulaiman at Sulaiman Taing in Sonwar here, Renzushah also paid tributes to Hazrat Maama Koul-e-Sahib and highlighted the role of Sufi poetry and teachings in promoting communal harmony and cultural cohesion.
The spiritual gathering was organised by Khanwada Maama Koul Sahib along with prominent figures including Rashid Hafiz and Mohammad Yousuf Qadri. It featured a rendition of Samaa Saadat based on the poetry of Hazrat Maama Koul-e-Sahib by Gulukars Bashir Shamas Tail Bali, Manzoor Sahib and Feroz Sahib.
Renzushah announced that the complete collection of the works of Hazrat Maama Koul-e-Sahib would be presented within two months through the Aalami Urdu Conference on a global platform.
He said the initiative would help take the teachings and poetic works of Sufi saints of Kashmir to crores of well-wishers and viewers across the world.
“Urdu and Kashmiri are vital mother tongues and languages of communication,” Renzushah said, while recalling his tenure as president of the KAS Officers Association, which, he said, he headed for 11 years.
He appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take steps to ensure multilingual display boards at government offices.
“At least this minor action can be taken for proper communication between the present administration, bureaucracy and people in general, which seems disconnected,” he said.
Renzushah said Tasawuf, as propagated by Sufi saints through their poetry and teachings, promotes communal, sectarian and regional unity.
He said the principles of “Ren”, humanity and cultural cohesion were central to the Sufi tradition of Kashmir.
Referring to Takhat-e-Sulaiman, Renzushah said the site itself symbolised communal harmony, being situated alongside the Shankaracharya shrine.
He said the teachings of Hazrat Maama Koul-e-Sahib further strengthened the message of unity and peaceful coexistence.
The gathering was attended by a large number of devotees and followers of the Sufi tradition.
