Srinagar Police attach properties worth ₹5.8 crore linked to drug peddlers

Srinagar:Continuing its intensified crackdown against narcotics trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police attached properties worth approximately 5.8 crore belonging to three alleged drug peddlers in the Khanyar area.Police said the action was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act by Police Station Khanyar. The attached assets include immovable properties and a vehicle allegedly acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking.

Among the attached properties is a double-storey residential house along with eight shops belonging to Nazir Ahmad Mir alias Nazir Lashkari at Koolipora, Khanyar, valued at around 3.2 crore.Another property attached belongs to Gulzar Ahmad Mir of Miskeen Bagh, Khanyar, which includes a Scorpio vehicle, seven marlas of land and a temporary structure collectively valued at around 1.8 crore.

Police also attached a single-storey residential house built on nine marlas of land belonging to Zahid Manzoor Rather of Nowpora Khanyar, valued at approximately 80 lakh.Officials said the action forms part of the 100-day anti-drug campaign launched to dismantle narcotics networks and target illegally acquired assets linked to drug trafficking.
