Washington/Tehran/Tel Aviv: US President Donald Trump has demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” as the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran entered its seventh day, with fresh air strikes and missile attacks reported across the region.

Massive explosions were reported in several locations across Iran on Thursday as US and Israeli forces continued their aerial bombardment. According to Iranian reports cited by international agencies, at least 1,332 people have been killed in the strikes since Saturday.

Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency reported that two schools in the town of Parand, southwest of Tehran, were hit by missiles during the attacks.

Meanwhile, Israeli fighter jets carried out fresh strikes in southern and eastern Lebanon, including targeting areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut, where the Iran-backed group Hezbollah maintains strongholds.

Iran has also intensified retaliatory operations, launching missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and several Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain. Late Thursday night, Israel’s commercial hub Tel Aviv came under combined missile and drone attacks, with air defence systems intercepting several projectiles.

According to reports from Reuters and other international agencies, the escalating confrontation has raised fears of a broader regional war, as multiple countries in the Middle East become increasingly involved.

Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict have so far shown little progress, with Washington maintaining a hardline stance and warning that military operations will continue unless Iran agrees to its conditions.

Officials across the region have warned that continued attacks risk further destabilising the Middle East and could have significant global economic and security consequences.(Agencies )
