Proposal to Enhance Honorarium of MLAs’ PAs Under Examination: Govt
Jammu, February 10: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday informed the Legislative Assembly that a proposal to enhance the monthly honorarium of Personal Assistants (PAs) engaged with MLAs is currently under examination.
The information was shared by the Finance Department in a written reply to a question raised by Congress legislator Tariq Hameed Karra during the Assembly session.
Karra had sought clarification on whether Personal Assistants working with MLAs had requested an increase in their monthly honorarium, along with entitlements such as TA/DA, on par with staff of other parliamentarians. He also asked about the details of the proposal and the timeline for its consideration.
In response, the Finance Department stated that a proposal regarding the enhancement of the monthly honorarium of Personal Assistants engaged with MLAs has been received from the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department and is presently under examination.
However, no specific timeline or further details were provided by the government.
