Share

Poonch, Jan 11: After remaining closed for nearly a week due to inclement weather and snow clearance work, the historic Mughal Road was reopened for vehicular movement on Sunday.

Traffic authorities confirmed that vehicles have been allowed to ply on the road, though with strict regulations and limited timings in view of safety concerns. SSP Traffic Rural Farooq Qaisar advised motorists to remain vigilant while travelling, particularly along vulnerable high-altitude stretches where weather conditions remain unpredictable.

He said that vehicular movement on the Mughal Road will be permitted only between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm, adding that the schedule will be enforced strictly to ensure orderly traffic flow and commuter safety.

The traffic police have urged commuters to follow advisories, avoid unnecessary journeys, maintain proper lane discipline and cooperate with personnel deployed along the route.

Officials said the situation on the road is being monitored continuously, and any change in traffic arrangements will be communicated as required to safeguard public interest.
