Shopian Freezes at –6.4°C as Kashmir Battles Severe Cold Wave

Kashmir remained gripped by severe cold on Saturday as night temperatures dipped further across the Valley, with Shopian recording the season’s lowest at –6.4°C, according to official data.

Pulwama and Pampore followed with –5.2°C, while Baramulla reported –5.1°C and Anantnag –4.9°C.

Srinagar Airport recorded a low of –4.8°C, Pahalgam –4.4°C, Qazigund –4.2°C, and Srinagar city –4.1°C. Budgam also settled at –4.1°C.

Other minimum temperatures included:
• Awantipora: –3.8°C
• Kupwara: –3.5°C
• Bandipora: –3.4°C
• Ganderbal: –3.1°C
• Sonamarg: –3.0°C
• Gulmarg: –2.6°C
• Kulgam: –1.2°C
• Kokernag: –0.2°C (warmest in the Valley)

The cold wave is expected to persist as sub-zero temperatures continue to grip most parts of Kashmir.
