Srinagar, Oct 29: Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) has created a new milestone as its Class 11 Media Studies student, Muntaha Masoodi, clinched the Second Position in the student film category at the Travelling Film Southasia (FSA) Film Festival 2025. The Travelling FSA Film Festival brought to Kashmir a collection of internationally acclaimed documentaries and independent films from across South Asia, aimed at celebrating storytelling through the visual medium. A total of nineteen films were screened, including fifteen student entries and four award-winning documentaries from the FSA archive. The screenings were followed by thought-provoking discussions between filmmakers, film students, and audiences.

The festival concluded with the announcement of results, where Stitch, a film by Government Degree College Baramulla, won the Best Film Award, and Green Valley’s student entry secured the Second Position for its originality, content depth, and technical execution.

Chairman of Green Valley Educational Institute, M.Y. Wani, congratulated the student and appreciated the department’s efforts, stating, “This award marks a proud moment for our institution. Despite being in its inaugural year, students from the department have already won multiple awards at prominent inter-institutional events.
