Srinagar, August 14: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo on Thursday said that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in selling rotten or unsafe meat in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, he said enforcement agencies have already begun acting on the issue. He said the matter was recently reviewed in a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, where directions were given to take the toughest possible action.

He said other concerned departments have also been asked to act against those found violating food safety norms.

On the upcoming Independence Day celebrations, Dulloo said all arrangements have been made. He added that rehearsals have already been completed and the main events will take place in every district on August 15.

He said the administration is fully prepared and district-level functions will go ahead as scheduled.
