SMC Chief Reviews Civic Services, Sets New Targets for Srinagar
The Commissioner directed all wings to work with punctuality, accountability, and a citizen-first approach. He stressed faster disposal of files, streamlined building permissions, and better coordination among departments to avoid service delays.
Haseeb instructed the Sanitation and Solid Waste Management teams to intensify cleanliness drives, improve garbage collection, and conduct regular hygiene checks across all wards. The Civil, Mechanical, and Drainage wings were told to expedite repairs of roads, drains, and dewatering stations, particularly in flood-prone areas.
He also ordered strict action against illegal constructions and encroachments, digitization of birth, death, and property records, and stronger grievance redressal systems with round-the-clock monitoring by the SMC Control Room.
The Commissioner said the Corporation is committed to transparent, efficient, and responsive service delivery, aiming to transform Srinagar into a cleaner and modern city.
