Kashmiri Students Being Moved To Turkmenistan For Evacuation

SRINAGAR, Jun 18: Over 1500 students who were relocated to Qom over the last few days have been moved to Mashad this morning for evuacation from Turkmenistan.

The journey to Mashhad will take approximately 12 hours, after which they are expected to cross to Turkmenistan.

In the meantime, over 100 students who had crossed into Armenia as part of the relocation will begin their journey home via Doha.

The group includes around 90 students from the Kashmir Valley studying at Urmia Medical University.
As per details, the students will depart from the Armenian capital, Yerevan, and are flying to Delhi via Doha on IndiGo flights arranged by the Government of India.

The Ministry of External Affairs has also confirmed to the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) that tickets from Delhi to Srinagar are being arranged to ensure a smooth and complete journey home for the students from Kashmir Nasir Khuehami, National Convenor of JKSA, said they are closely monitoring the situation and remain in constant touch with the students and authorities to facilitate their safe return.(PTI)
