Pulwama-Budgam Road in Shambles, Locals Demand Immediate Repairs
BASHARAT RASHID
Pulwama, May 14: The key road connectivity that connects Pulwama district with Budgam district has deteriorated into a critical condition, resulting in great inconvenience for commuters and people of the area.
As per the locals, the stretch, which connects the Rahmoo part of Pulwama to Pakherpora in Budgam, has not been macadamized for years. They assert that the worn-out condition of the road has made it difficult to travel every day, more so during rain and snowfall when the conditions become much worse due to waterlogging.
“Nothing has been done on this road for years,” said one local. “It needs to be macadamized and repaired urgently.”
“When it rains or snows, the road becomes waterlogged. It should have a good drainage system to prevent water from collecting,” he said.
Residents have appealed to the authorities concerned and MLA to act and take prompt action to renovate and improve the road.
