Jammu, May 06: J&K BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur on Monday hailed the latest diplomatic triumph for India at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), saying the global community has once again “shut down Pakistan’s propaganda machinery” and reaffirmed that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India.

Thakur said Pakistan’s attempt to raise the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in the UNSC boomeranged badly. “The world knows the truth. Pakistan tried to peddle lies, calling the attack a false flag operation. But the UNSC members exposed their duplicity and instead questioned why UN-designated terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba are still operating freely on Pakistani soil,” he said.

The UNSC meeting, convened behind closed doors at Pakistan’s request, ended in diplomatic embarrassment for Islamabad, with permanent members including the United States, France, Russia, and the United Kingdom strongly backing India’s sovereign stance and rejecting third-party intervention. The Council condemned the killing of Hindu pilgrims and tourists in Pahalgam and called for an unambiguous stand against terrorism in all forms.

Thakur added, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the world is now with India. Pakistan is being isolated. Even its so-called allies—Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain—chose silence over support.”

The UNSC also expressed concern over Pakistan’s recent Fatah-1 and Abdali missile tests, calling them escalatory and ill-timed provocations in an already sensitive region.
