135,925 Houses constructed Under PMAY-G in Two Years: Govt

Srinagar, Mar 12 : The Jammu and Kashmir government announced on Wednesday that a total of 135,925 houses have been built under the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Awaas Yojana (PMAY-G) in the past two years.

In response to a query from MLA Arjun Gupta, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj stated that, following the saturation of the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 and AwaasPlus database, there is no specific target set for the 2024-25 financial year.

However, the minister confirmed that the remaining target of 140,021 houses from previous phases will be completed within the current fiscal year. Of the total houses built, 109,412 were in Jammu Division, and 26,513 were in Kashmir Division.

Officials have also been directed to ensure that their registered mobile numbers linked with Sandes remain active, valid and accessible for receiving authentication messages. Any discrepancy, authentication failure or technical issue is required to be reported immediately through the official email IDs issued by the department. The circular further stated that the respective Maker/Checker users will be held solely accountable for any transaction or activity carried out using their credentials.The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority under reference number FD-BDGTODBT/1/2025-PMU-FD (7651222), and copies have been forwarded to all Administrative Secretaries for information and necessary compliance.
