Bandipora rape: JKHCBA refrains from work in solidarity with the victim
Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) on Monday refrained from court work as a mark of solidarity with the three-year-old rape victim.
“HCBA has decided to abstain from court work today in protest against the kidnapping and rape of three-year-old girl in Malikpora, Sumbal,” read a statement issued by the JKHCBA.
Bandipora district in northern Kashmir is in shock over a three-year-old girl’s rape, allegedly by a neighbor.
Police have already arrested the accused, who is a resident of Malikpora Trigam Sumbal.
Massive protests have erupted in Kashmir with the people demanding a speedy trial of the case.
Various political and social-religious parties have condemned the incident and demanded stern action against those who are responsible for the act.
