Security Beefed Up in J&K Poll Districts ahead of polling day
The authorities have deployed additional troops, established checkpoints, and heightened surveillance in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents. Strategic checkpoints have been set up to monitor movement, while CCTV cameras and drones are being used for aerial surveillance.
“We’re committed to providing a secure environment for voters,” said a senior police official. Agencies are working to identify potential threats, and inter-agency coordination has been strengthened.
The districts going to polls in the first phase include Kishtwar, Ramban, Doda, Pulwama, and Shopian, Anantnag.
Voters in these districts are eager to exercise their franchise, and the administration’s efforts aim to ensure their safety and security. The heightened security presence is expected to bolster confidence in the electoral process, an official said.
The polls are being seen as a crucial milestone in Jammu and Kashmir’s democratic journey, and the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure their success, he added.
