Mirwaiz placed under house arrest, says Anjuman
Srinagar, Sep 06: Authorities on Friday placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest ahead of Friday congregational prayers, Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid said.
Anjuman said authorities informed Mirwaiz that he has been detained at home and won’t be allowed to go to Jama Masjid today to deliver the Friday sermon and offer congregational prayers there.
