BJP protests at press enclave Srinagar, demand security cover for BJP workers
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Kashmir headed by State General Secretary(Org),Ashok Kaul held a protest on Tuesday at Press Enclave in Srinagar against the security withdrawal of the political workers in Jammu and Kashmir.
Scores of BJP workers assembled at the Press Enclave and demanded protection to their workers. The protests were held in the aftermath of the killing of a BJP leader in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
“I will also not take any security till the same is not provided to other political workers as well,” Kaul declared.
While speaking to the media,Kaul said that a formal letter has also been sent to the Additional Director General of Police Security Wing Kashmir in which they have demanded that till full proof security is not provided to the BJP workers ‘he as general secretary will surrender the security till the demand is not met’.
Kaul also said that he had personally approached SSP Anantnag and SHO Verinag not to withdraw the security of BJP worker Gul Muhammad Mir.
Notably,Mir was shot dead by the unidentified gunmen at his residence in the Kokernag area of the south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Later, Kaul boarded a three-wheeler without any security and the protesting workers dispersed off peacefully.
