Woman killed in hit-&-run in Sopore

In a hit –and-run case,a  65-year-old woman was killed when a rashly driven  truck hit her near Model Town in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Noora Begum, wife of Abdul Ahad Dar.

According to sources, Noora Begum was rushed to SDH Sopore soon after the mishap. However, she was declared dead on arrival by the doctors there.

The truck driver fled from the spot, reports said.

A police official said that a case has been registered in this regard and the investigation taken up.
