Forest dept in Tral organises program on Biodiversity Management
Tral: Forest department in Tral on Monday organised a program on Biodiversity Management, which was held in the presence of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Awantipora, Waseem Farooq Mir.
The meeting was attended by the Range Officer (RO) Tral, Block Forest Officers, members of Bio-diversity Committee, field staff of Tral range, & Sarpanchs.
On the occasion, the speakers talked about the biodiversity of Jammu and Kashmir and threw light on various types of Forests in the valley.
They also spoke about the Non-timber forest products (NTFPs), which are crucial in driving the economy of communities living inside or around forests.
Meanwhile, DFO, Waseem Farooq Mir, during his visit to Tral inspected boundary pillars at Karmulla Block, and later visited Forest Block Lam as well, along with other officials of the department.
