Shashi Tharoor suffers head injuries on temple visit,hospitalized
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor suffered head injuries after suffering a fall while offering prayers in a temple in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, 15 April. He was admitted to a hospital and is currently stable, reports said.
Tharoor reportedly participated in a thulabaram ceremony, a traditional practice where a person is weighed on the scales against gold, grain or fruits. The equivalent weight is offered as donation, reported ThE News Minute .
While Tharoor was participating in the ceremony, the weighing scale he was sitting on broke and the hook support came loose and struck him on the head. Tharoor also suffered injuries on his leg from the fall, according to the report.
He was initially admitted to Thiruvananthapuram general hospital. He has received six stitches on his head and is out of danger, reported ANI.
District Congress Committee president Thampanoor Ravi told The News Minute that Tharoor has 10 stitches on his head and is being taken to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
