500 bedded Govt Children Hospital Bemina to start functioning on 26th sep, Monday

Srinagar, 22 Sep : On Thursday, officials said the much-anticipated 500-bed Children Hospital in Srinagar’s Bemina area would begin operations on September 26.

According to sources, Children Hospital Bemina will get operational on 26th September.

The 500 beded children’s hospital will begin operating on the 26th of September, 2022, Day Monday (10 am onward).

“Accordingly, sources added that, the OPD/Admissions at GB Pant Hospital Sonwar shall be closed on same day from 10.00 a.m,” they said.

Notably, work on the hospital was initially started in 2013 but the then chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed gave an extension in October 2015 and laid the foundation stone for a 500-bedded Mother and Child Hospital.

In 2019, the government accorded sanction to the conversion of the 200-bedded Maternity Hospital and the 300-bedded Paediatric Hospital into a full-fledged 500-bedded Children Hospital.

After missing several deadlines, the hospital was completed and OPD services started functioning in October last year
