Powergrid organizes first of its kind CSR conclave in Srinagar

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited(POWERGRID)organized a CSR Conclave at Srinagar on 09th of September,2022,in a bid to bring all major public sector undertakings on a single platformfor  experience sharing in CSR execution and issues being faced by them. Besides POWERGRID, major CPSUswith diverse business models like BPCL, HPCL, ONGC, NTPC, GAIL,NHPC, REC, SJVNL, THDC, BHEL, SAIL and DVCparticipated in this conclave. The conclave provided a rare learning opportunity to the participating organisations.The Conclave was highly successful with all CPSUs sharingtheir best CSR practices in a candid and interactive environment,. These CPSUs also deliberated on the ways to contribute more for bringing about positive change in the society. All the CPSUs emphasized on the fact that through collective initiatives they can pay back to the society in a much more meaningful manner.

In his keynote address, Dr.V.K.Singh, Director (Personnel), POWERGRID highlighted the importance of CSR in present scenario. He informed that projects of around Rupees thirty thousand crores have been executed by the CPSUs in India in last ten (10) years which signifies the role these CPSUs  in development of the nation.Welcome address was delivered by Sh. Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II and Vote of thanks was presented by Sh. A.Nagaraju,Executive Director(CSR), POWERGRID.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is a Maharatna Enterprise under Ministry of Power having its regional headquarters of Northern Region-II at Jammu. POWERGRID is engaged in inter-state bulk power transmission. POWERGRID has 172,662ckm of transmission lines, 267Sub-stations and more than 485,777 MVA of transformation capacity. With the adoption of latest technological tools and techniques, enhanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain average transmission system availability >99%.
