Police seize 02 Tractors and arrests 02 persons for illegal excavation and transportation of minerals

Budgam, 7th September-22 : Continuing its efforts to take stringent action against those involved in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in district Budgam, Budgam Police seized 02 tractors and arrested 02 persons.

Police Station Khansahib received an information that some persons are illegally extracting sand, boulders and bajre from Nalla Arizal, accordingly raid was conducted and 02 tractors without registration numbers laden with sand boulders/bajre were seized and 02 drivers were arrested on spot who were identified as Sajad Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Raheem Sheikh resident of Zimpora and Mohammad Iqbal Dar son of abdul Rashid Dar resident of Raiyar

Case FIR number 160/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police station Khansahib and investigation set into motion.

Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
