IPS officer Basant Rath submits resignation letter to J&K Chief Secretary

Intends to participate in electoral politics

Srinagar, June 26 : IPS officer Basant Rath has submitted his resignation letter to chief secretary of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir wishing resignation or voluntary retirement from his services.

In his letter, to chief secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Rath has wished to participate electoral process.

He has urged the CS to consider the letter as his request for resignation or voluntary retirement from his services.

“I wish to resign from the Indian Police Service in order to be able to participate in electoral politics. Please consider this letter as my request for resignation/voluntary retirement and process it accordingly. I’ll be grateful,” reads the letter.
