Awantipora girl authors her first poetry book

Pulwama: Inabat Jabbar, a student of B.Sc Nursing at Kashmir University, who hails from Awanpora hamlet of Chersoo area in Awantipora Kashmir, became the author of her first poetry book.

She started writing in 2021, and “managed to compile debut poetry collection, in just twelve days.”

Inabat’s first book, titled as ‘Life Is a Shadow’, talks about ‘the gender inequality’, and was published by Renascence Publishers, last year.

Talking to the Arising State, she said that she penned down her emotions, after experiencing discrimination against women.

“I don’t tolerate inequality with women. Through my book, I raised the issues being faced by the women here, as I feel their pain,” Inabat said.

The book ‘Life is a Shadow’, comprises of 30 poems, which revolve around different themes, like Miseries of girl, Girl without a brother, Mother- the beautiful creation of God, Muhammad (SAW), A tree’s beauty, etc.

The book, ‘mostly considers the sufferings of women in the society.’

She said that her family, friends, relatives, and Principal Hajahad Public School Awantipora- Imtiyaz Ahmad, always encouraged and supported her.

She further said that she will write more books in future, particularly on: depression, use of social media in present era, and other issues.
