One-day ‘Saffron Festival’ organised in Pampore Pulwama

Pampore: One-day saffron festival was organized by the Agriculture Department at Indian International Trade Spice Park, Dasu Pampore on Friday.

Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor (LG), Farooq Ahmad Khan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Director Agriculture Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Basir-ul-Haq Chaudhry, other officials of the concerned department, and a good number of farmers also participated.

During the program, Minister of State, Kailash Chaudhary and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, also addressed the farmers through virtual mode.

The advisor paid a detailed visit to Spice Park and reviewed the facilities provided to the farmers there.

He asked the officers to provide all facilities to the farmers from Spice Park so that the farmers could get maximum benefit.

The advisor also inspected various stalls set up by the agriculture department during the programme.

During the Saffron Festival, a musical concert was also organized for the participants which was well enjoyed by the audience.

On the occasion, Adviser to the Lieutenant Governor Farooq Khan said that the administration is committed to promote the saffron industry and increase the income of saffron farmers.
