01 militant killed in Sopore Gunfight, operation on
Sopore, August 24: A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in PethSeer area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told that one unidentified militant has been killed sofar, he said operation in progress.
Earlier, reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 52 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in PethSeer on Monday evening.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
Meanwhile, authorities suspended mobile internet services in the area as a precautionary measures.
However, following the gunfight railway authorities also suspended Train operation between Budgam to Baramulla and vice versa for today.
