Amateur’ Female Driver From Kupwara Dies In Doodhpatri

Srinagar, Jun 25:An ‘amateur’ female driver was killed after a car she was driving, rolled down a gorge at Tangnar area along Doodhpathri road in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday afternoon.

Reports said  that the incident occurred as a family was returning from the scenic spot – Doodhpathri. The family had stopped for snacks at Tangnar area and in the course of time, one female started the vehicle. However she soon after lost control over the vehicle, resulting in it rolling down a gorge along the road stretch.

The female, identified as one Saima Rasheed daughter of Abdul Rasheed from Kupwara, was retrieved dead from the gorge.

Confirming the fatal incident, a police official said that the girl was ‘amateur’ and as known would occasionally drive. “We have registered a case in this matter for further investigations”, the official further said.
