Tral media fraternity condemns abusive call to Senior Journalist, demands action
Tral, 9 May: Reacting on the ‘abusive call’ to a Senior Journalist by a govt employee, Tral media fraternity condemned the act & called an emergency meeting on Sunday morning, demanding immediate action against the accused government employee.
Few days back, a senior journalist went to cover a peaceful protest organised by the locals at Dadsara village, who were alleging ‘apathy of surveillance team’ in letting people know about the COVID-19 positive cases in the village.
As the said journalist covered the protest, and tried to get the official version from the concerned govt official (part of surveillance team), the official started abusing the journalist and ‘threatened’ him to break his mobile phone.
The said govt employee later called on the mobile number of victim journalist, and abused him again by using ‘abusive language’
In a meeting held today, media fraternity demanded action against the accused employee, so that such acts won’t happen in the future.
