Dir Horticulture visits hailstorm hit areas of South Kashmir

Expressed sympathy with orchardists, assures all possible assistance

SHOPIAN 08 MAY : Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat visited various orchards of village Zazripora, Awgam, Poniwah, Nanibugh, Kanipora, Srandoo and Bugam, which have witnessed hail storm on 07/05/2021, causing heavy damage to fruit crops. He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Kulgam and KVK Officials.

The Director expressed his sympathies with the affected fruit growers and assured them of all possible help by the Government. Besides, the growers were advised to follow the advisory issued by the Department of Horticulture, Kashmir, so as to minimize the possibility of further damage to the fruit crop.

The Director impressed upon all the concerned Chief Horticulture officers to assess the damage caused by the Hail storm along with Revenue Officials in the affected areas.
