Anantnag,06May: Amid covid19 positive cases surge people from remote villages in Anantnag district are violating covid19 SOPs.
A video went viral on social media from Larnoo Kokernag in which people including women were seen jam packed in queues waiting for their turns in front of Jammu and Kashmir Bank branches.
Talking to Arising State Dr. Adil in charge of “Rapid sampling center” in GMC Anantnag said that they were shocked to see the visuals of the long queques at Larnoo Bank.
“Everybody knows about the epidemic and how the virus is spreading fast in jammu and Kashmir still people are not following SOPs”, he said. Added that the things would get much worse if people will not follow SOPs.
Dr. Adil expressed concern over people not abiding to basic norms like maintainining social distancing to prevent contracting infection.
Rate of spread of infection in these crowded places only increases chances of contracting disease . The administration should tight the noose against the violators so that the virus does not spread ,he said.
A large number of bank employees are showing positive results for the deadly virus even we have witnessed deaths of bank employees.
Keeping banks open in lockdown without following necessary SOPs by people is a strong reason for the fast spread of covid ,he said.
Meanwhile, talking to the Arising state Sarib Sehran SDM Kokernag said , “I have also received the information about the long queues in the bank branch and I have already spoken to JK Bank Manager about the crowd. He probably does not have enough staff in the Bank to handle customer flow. We are jointly corroborating on this issue.”
We are sending few teachers from ZEO office to designated bank on permanent basis to cooperate realizing the consequences of the potential spread of coronavirus infection among customers in crowded queues, he said.
