45-yr-old woman slips to death in Kulgam

Kulgam, Apr 17: A 45-year-old woman died on Saturday after slipping into a Nallah in the Gulzarabad area of Damhal Hanjipora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official said that Gulshana Banoo (45), wife of Farooq Ahmad Malik of Humpathri slipped and fell into a Nallah while crossing a footbridge between Gulzarabad and Humpathri Kulgam.

“Gulshana had gone to meet her sister. While crossing the footbridge, she slipped into a Nallah and died on the spot,” he said, adding that the body was fished out by locals with the help of Tehsil administration in a span of one hour at Chund Badijalan.

He said the body was later handed over to her family members for last rites.
