Father in police custody as police investigates ‘murder’ angle

Bandipora: Hadiya and Hazim, two minor siblings, are still unaware about the reality of their mother’s death, who on Sunday allegedly committed suicide after consuming some poisonous substance at her in-laws home in Rampora village of Bandipora district of north Kashmir. Locals told that both the children have no idea about their mother as they not able to comprehend where their mother has gone.” The gloomy atmosphere at home makes them wonder where their mother is. They keep asking everyone about their mother but no one has the courage to answer them,” locals said.On Sunday night the sibling’s mother (victim) had committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her in-laws home in Rampora village of Bandipora. She later died at SMHS hospital following which the victim’s kin alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws and was being harassed for dowry.The victim’s family who are from Panzigam also protested at Bandipora hospital, alleging that their daughter was murdered by her in-laws as she was being continuously harassed by her in-laws for dowry.They demanded that their “killer” should be severely punished for committing such a heinous crime.Meanwhile, station house officer (SHO) Aragam, Javid Ahmad said that they have arrested the victim’s husband and his father. The minor siblings, who have been kept at a relative’s place in Rampora, keep asking each other where their mother has suddenly disappeared as they are still unaware about the reality.“Hadiya with a perplexed face today morning asked her brother Hazim where is Mumma as the people in the house secretly talk to each other about their mother. Hazim too replied in the same manner as both are unaware about the reality,” said one of their relatives.He said that both the siblings do not know what tragedy has befallen on them. “On one side their mother is resting in the grave and on the other side their father is under police custody, who are investigating the murder angle of their mother’s suicide,” he said, wishing not to be named. Meanwhile, a senior police official said that the investigation into the matter was going on and all the possibilities have been kept open to ascertain the facts as to why she took this extreme step.He also said that the reason for her taking this extreme step was her husband’s “infidelity” and the enabling role of in-laws is being looked into.”Anything final can be said only after receiving confirmatory medical and technical reports,” he said. “However, all the possibilities have been kept open at this stage.”

Govt introduces MFA Security System on JK BEAMS Portal Jammu:The Finance Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) through Sandes (SMS-based authentication) on the JK BEAMS Portal to further strengthen the security framework of the online financial management system.According to an official circular issued by the department, the MFA system has been successfully integrated into the live environment and all concerned officers and users have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the new security protocols. The circular applies to all Director Finances, Director Plannings, Financial Advisors (FAs), Chief Accounts Officers (CAOs), Accounts Officers (AOs), Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), and Maker/Checker users associated with the JK BEAMS Portal. The department has emphasized that Maker/Checker users shall be solely responsible for the secure handling, confidentiality and proper use of their login credentials. Users have been strictly instructed not to share login details, one-time passwords (OTPs) or any authentication-related information with any unauthorized person under any circumstances. Officials have also been directed to ensure that their registered mobile numbers linked with Sandes remain active, valid and accessible for receiving authentication messages. Any discrepancy, authentication failure or technical issue is required to be reported immediately through the official email IDs issued by the department. The circular further stated that the respective Maker/Checker users will be held solely accountable for any transaction or activity carried out using their credentials.The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority under reference number FD-BDGTODBT/1/2025-PMU-FD (7651222), and copies have been forwarded to all Administrative Secretaries for information and necessary compliance.
