DGP prisons decorates newly promoted officials

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 09: DGP, Prisons, J&K- V. K. Singh, today decorated 6 newly promoted officials of Prison Headquarters with rank at a pipping ceremony held here at Prison Headquarters, Jammu.

The promoted officials are Head Warders- Balbir Kumar, Mohammad Ishaq, Rashpaul Singh & SG Warders- Abdul Majeed, Gulzar Ahmad Lone, Vikas Gupta. The pipping ceremony was attended by DIG, Prisons-Dr. M. S. Lone; Naila Zahoor Chib, FA/CAO and Saba Shawl, Staff Officer to DGP, Prisons.

Department Promotion Committee, which met under the chairmanship of DGP, Prisons, approved promotion of 10 Head Warders to the rank of Assistant Superintendent Jail, 03 Senior Assistants to the rank of Head Assistants, 48 SG Warders to the rank of Head Warders, 56 Warders to the rank of SG Warders, 03 SG Warder Drivers to the rank of Head Warder Drivers, 05 Warder Driver to SG Warder Drivers, 03 Barber Grade III to Grade II, 01 Barber Grade-II to Grade-I.

While congratulating the officials, the DGP Prisons expressed hope that they will continue to work with the same zeal & shoulder new responsibilities efficiently.

Govt introduces MFA Security System on JK BEAMS Portal Jammu:The Finance Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Government has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) through Sandes (SMS-based authentication) on the JK BEAMS Portal to further strengthen the security framework of the online financial management system.According to an official circular issued by the department, the MFA system has been successfully integrated into the live environment and all concerned officers and users have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the new security protocols. The circular applies to all Director Finances, Director Plannings, Financial Advisors (FAs), Chief Accounts Officers (CAOs), Accounts Officers (AOs), Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), and Maker/Checker users associated with the JK BEAMS Portal. The department has emphasized that Maker/Checker users shall be solely responsible for the secure handling, confidentiality and proper use of their login credentials. Users have been strictly instructed not to share login details, one-time passwords (OTPs) or any authentication-related information with any unauthorized person under any circumstances. Officials have also been directed to ensure that their registered mobile numbers linked with Sandes remain active, valid and accessible for receiving authentication messages. Any discrepancy, authentication failure or technical issue is required to be reported immediately through the official email IDs issued by the department. The circular further stated that the respective Maker/Checker users will be held solely accountable for any transaction or activity carried out using their credentials.The order has been issued with the approval of the competent authority under reference number FD-BDGTODBT/1/2025-PMU-FD (7651222), and copies have been forwarded to all Administrative Secretaries for information and necessary compliance.
