Sanitary Inspector attempts suicide in Kupwara, hospitalised
Srinagar, Dec 14: A Sanitary Inspector on Monday morning attempted suicide purportedly by consuming some poisonous substances at Tangdhar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.
Identifying the official as one Shabir Ahmad Lone (38) a resident of Handwara, they said that “It is believed that he has taken some poisonous substance this morning while at his residential quarters.”
The official, according to sources, was airlifted to sub-district Hospital Kupwara for treatment.
Meanwhile, when contacted Incharge BMO Kupwara Dr. Iqbal said that the person has been referred to a Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.
A police official has in the meantime confirmed the incident and said that an FSL report has been sought in this regard.
“An FIR number 102/2020 under sections 309 IPC has been registered and further investigations set in motion”, the official added.
