2nd Vice Chancellor’s Employees tournament in IUST: School of medical sciences script victory, defeat school of humanities in final

Awantipora: The 2nd Vice Chancellor’s Employees cricket tournament was concluded in Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora on Thursday, in which the university’s School of medical sciences defeated school of humanities in the final match.
Both the teams played very well throughout the game, and showed excitement and passion from the beginning to end.
The man of the Match award was given to Mr. Tabashir Bashir of Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing & Medical Technology, from the School of Health Sciences, for his outstanding performance in the final match.
Accordingly, man of the Series award was given to Dr. Showkat Hussain Bhat (BVOC-Medical Lab & Molecular Diagnostic Technology), for his all round performance throughout the tournament.
Large number of university students were watching the final match for full day, and were supporting their favourite team with claps and exhilaration.
Registrar IUST Prof. Naseer Iqbal, was the Chief Guest on the occasion, who boosted the morale of all the participants with his encouraging speech.
Mr. Sameer Wazir Chairman Sports Committee and Finance Officer IUST, Principal Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing & Medical Technology Prof. Mehmooda Regu, Media Advisor to HVC Dr. Monisa Qadiri and Deans/Heads of various Schools/Departments, were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the reporters, Registrar IUST, Prof. Naseer Iqbal has said that “all the employees were happy and excited, while playing this tournament in the university.”
He said that “everyone was stressed due to COVID-19 pandemic, but this tournament brought smile on the faces of all employees irrespective of rank.”
The official added that more such events will be organised in future, with next tournament to be held for students now.
