10 Amarnath Pilgrims Injured in Road Accident on Jammu-Srinagar Highway
Anantnag, July 13: At least 10 Amarnath pilgrims sustained injuries after three vehicles part of a Yatra convoy collided on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Wanpoh area in Kulgam district on Sunday morning.
According to official sources, the accident occurred while the vehicles were en route to Baltal, one of the two base camps for the Amarnath Yatra. The mishap took place when three Yatra vehicles collided near Khudwani-Wanpoh stretch.Soon after the incident, local authorities along with police teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a local hospital where from they were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment.
Among those injured were:
- Krishna Prajapati, wife of Ramash Kumar, resident of Makan No. 7, Post Kharwa Khurd, Tehsil Kharwa Khurd, Alote, Ratlam (MP) – 457114
- Bardhi Lal, son of Para Jee, resident of Madhya Pradesh, aged 60
- Gata Bai, wife of Warda Lal, resident of Madhya Pradesh, aged 65
All injured pilgrims were reported to have sustained minor injuries and were stable and safe.
